A 50-minute appointment is charged at $300. This compares favourably with the recommended fee of $330 set by the Australian Psychological Society, and $340 set by the Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated.

You don’t require a referral to see a psychologist. However, with a Mental Health Care Plan from your General Practitioner or Psychiatrist, you can access a Medicare rebate of $149.05 per appointment for up to 10 appointments per calendar year, If you attend on a private basis (without a GP referral), you may be eligible to claim a rebate through your private health insurance extras.
